“Life exists at the edge of chaos”
Said Kaufman about evolving natural state
Complexity is a part of holistic paradigm
Redefining concept of life and its fate.
Disease is aberration in organism's functions
Normal state is not regularity or stability
Neither the balanced state of homeostasis
Rather a dynamic, stable state, variability
Inter-beat intervals of the heart is chaotic,
Changing blood pressure or respiratory rate in phase space,
Persistent orderliness is predictably abnormal
Fluctuation is must in different situations we face
Growing older, or encountering disease,
Man loses the complexity of the youth
Degrading the physiological signals
Vulnerability objectively induced
Hence, the multi-morbidity, the elderly suffer
Frailty, sarcopenia, falls, and cataract
Affecting activities of daily living
Osteoarthritis, osteoporosis are bitter facts
Loss of heart rate variability
And nocturnal dip of blood pressure
Lass of balance while rising up
Alzheimer comes as a great depressor
Prevention is better than cure, an adage
Measures to be taken while young
Diet, exercise, yoga, meditation,
May help even before the aberrations sprung.
